the film will be released on may 10th and will be part of a new collector's edition blu-ray set. the set will include a 4k scan of the film from the original camera negative, as well as a new unrated cut of the film. it is rumored that the version of the film that will be included in the set is closer to craven's original vision. the director's cut will not be included in the set, but the unrated cut will be. a fan also has the opportunity to see the film in its theatrical cut.

david arquette and jonny depp are the only actors to have roles in both test screenings. the test screenings were originally meant to be included in the final cut, but were ultimately cut and released in the original theatrical cut. they have now been restored and will be included in the new unrated cut of the film.
