Forty-five pieces of theme music are used for the episodes: Fifteen opening themes and thirty closing themes. Several CDs that contain the theme music and other tracks have been released by Studio Pierrot.[4] As of January 23, 2013, all 366 episodes have been released by Aniplex in Japan in 88 DVD compilations.[5] 32 DVD compilations of the English adaptation of the series have been released by Viz Media,[6][7] and twenty six season boxsets have been released that contain all the seasons of the anime.[8][9]

The episodes use five pieces of theme music: two opening themes and three ending themes. The opening theme for the first five episodes is Orange Range's single "Asterisk";[7] the rest use "D-tecnoLife" by Uverworld.[8] The initial ending theme is "Thank You!!" by Home Made Kazoku,[7] switching at episode 26 to Younha's "Houkiboshi" (ほうき星, lit. Shooting Star)[8] and again at episode 39 to "HappyPeople" by Skoop on Somebody.[9]

Five DVD compilations, each containing four episodes of the season, have been released by Aniplex between July 27 and November 23, 2005.[10] The DVDs of the English adaptation of the series are distributed by Viz Media; five DVD compilations, each containing four episodes of the season, have been released by Viz Media between September 25, 2007, and May 20, 2008.[2][11] In the United Kingdom, Manga Entertainment released the season in two DVD volumes on June 30 and November 3, 2008.[12][13] A compilation of these two volumes was released on December 29, 2008.[14]

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Episode 12 & 13 will be out on Monday, December 26. In Japan, the episodes will be out on Tuesday, December 27, at 12 a.m. JST. The last two episodes of the cour will be combined into a 1-hour special.

Disney+ and Hulu are simulcasting the series. The episode with English subtitles should be available 30 minutes after it airs in Japan. In the United States, that would be at the following times on Monday:

As of Season 3, the series opening changed to "Hello Sleepwalkers - Hyakkiyakou"(the opening to the Bleach Brave Souls game). As of this point a Haiku is included in each episode's script, and it is repeated over a thank-you card to Patrons at the end.

Season 1's ending stinger is a beat from Bleach's "Number One" with a 3rd&Main logo in the corner. In season 2(continuing into Season 3) the ending stinger changed to an image of Ichigo's hollow mask in front of some mist with "ProjectMouthwash" written in front of it. Season 3 changes this slightly, changing the text under ProjectMouthwash to "Mouthwash Studios", altering the visuals and adding a different musical sting(as of episode 15).

The anime released a trailer that essentially served as a recap of the first ten episodes. This came after the tenth episode, titled "The Battle," aired. Finally, the trailer revealed the previously mentioned information about the combined broadcast of the 12th and 13th episodes as a 1-hour special.

Episode 11 will be released on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 12:00 a.m. JST, according to the information available. The special episode, a one-hour compilation of episodes 12 and 13, will air the following week at 12:30 a.m. JST.
